And we’re off…

Today Herald of the Storm hits bookshops in the UK, and you should most definitely buy it. But don’t just take my word for it! Gareth Wilson over at Falcata Times thinks it’s definitely a series to watch, while Ani Johnson at the Bookbag was reduced to tears… in a good way!

So go on, snag yourself a copy while the snagging’s good- – you won’t regret it!

Hello Mr. Ford, any chance that we’ll see a map for this interesting new world you created? I know not everyone is a map-person like me but i really love to peruse maps of fictional places and it hightens my enjoyment of stories a lot.

Hi there. Thanks for the comment. We don’t currently have plans for a map in the books, although maps do exist in my own rough scrawl. A map of the Free States might one day appear but my novels are more focused on character and plot than worldbuilding.

        Hi Mr. Ford,

Thanks for the reply. Do you think it is possible to show us the maps nonetheless? I mean as a service to the interested fans? You could upload them here in the “free stuff” section.
And worldbuilding or not, you have mentioned a lot of cultures, lands and races in the first hundred pages so that a map for orientation would help a lot!
I like to track the protagonists and also the places mentioned in a novel. And i am sure that is not just me 😉

        Best,
        K

The first three books will be focused in the city of Steelhaven, so there shouldn’t be much tracking needed. Any future books may well take place out in the wilds of the Free States, when I’m sure we’ll produce a map for all interested parties. 😉
